Our Services

West Hants Dial-a-Ride is a call-ahead transportation service for residents of West Hants. Our riders use our service for such diverse trips as medical appointments, to meet friends/family, educational opportunities, or a trip shopping or to pick up groceries.

Door-to-door
We offer accessible door-to-door service for all residents of West Hants Regional Municipality, Hantsport and Mount Uniacke for medical appointments, personal errands and business, and social, recreational and educational opportunities.

BoLT*
BoLT drives set routes around West Hants, much like a bus service. Staffed by volunteer drivers using their own reliable personal vehicles, this set route picks up riders and drops them off at pre-determined locations. It’s another way that Dial-a-Ride is helping members of our community get where they need to go.

* NOTE: This service has not yet begun.  We are currently working on Covid-19 practices and procedures in order to move forward.

Our service is available to anyone in our catchment area who needs transportation.

Please note we need at least 24 hours advance notice for booking. In the case of a request by email please understand that your trip is not booked until you hear back from us.

West Hants Dial a Ride provides receipts for all drives. It is up to the individual rider to determine if they are eligible for them to be used as a deduction for income tax purposes.

Q: Can anyone use your service?
A: Absolutely. Dial-a-Ride is open to anyone in our catchment area that requires transportation.

Q: Is there a fee to use the Dial-a-Ride service?
A: Yes there is a fee to use our service. Where you live and where you are going dictates the fee. Please contact our office to discuss costs.

Q: Does it cost more to take someone with me to my appointment?
A: No. There is no extra charge to have someone accompany you to your appointment.

Q: Can I call the same day and book a drive?
A: Dial a ride asks that you give us at least 24 hours notice to book your drive.

Q: How do I pay for my drive?
A: You can pay your driver by cheque or cash, and the driver will provide you with a receipt. Dial-a-Ride does not accept debit or credit card at this time.
